Whether you’re exploring a new city, sitting on the sidelines of a sporting event, or simply trying to be more present in your daily life, Ray-Ban Meta glasses* are the perfect companion to help you experience the world, share your POV, and capture the moments that matter, completely hands-free. Since launch, people have shared millions of moments with friends and family. People love the blend of iconic style and cutting-edge tech—so much so that we’ve had trouble keeping them on the shelves until recently. You can listen to music and podcasts or take phone calls with open-ear speakers that let you hear what’s going on around you. And they keep getting smarter and more capable with regular software updates.
The best part? The glasses come with Meta AI built-in, so you can more easily get things done or connect with the people you care about. Glasses are the perfect form factor to let Meta AI see what you see and hear what you say so it can help you as you go about your day. And we’re adding new AI features that will roll out over the next few months.
First, we’re making it easier to have a conversation with Meta AI without needing to say “Hey Meta” for each and every question. Kick off your conversation with “Hey Meta” to ask your initial question and then you can ask follow-up questions without saying “Hey Meta” again. And you no longer need to say “look and” to ask Meta AI questions about what you’re looking at.
We’re adding the ability for your glasses to help you remember things. Next time you fly somewhere, you don’t have to sweat forgetting where you parked—your glasses can remember your spot in long-term parking for you. You can use your voice to set a reminder in three hours to text your mom when you land safely. Your glasses will also be able to take actions based on text you’re looking at, so you can ask them to call a phone number on a flyer or scan a QR code.
You can now ask Meta AI to record and send voice messages on WhatsApp and Messenger while staying present and connecting with others in a more personal and expressive way. Sing your bestie “Happy Birthday” or share some exciting news with your parents—all without pulling out your phone.
We’re adding video to Meta AI so you can ask it to help in real time. It will be able to see what you see for a set duration, making it more natural to chat with than ever before. It will be able to remember what you said or saw earlier in the conversation and even offer its assistance proactively—imagine getting meal prep ideas while you’re grocery shopping or timely tips while you explore a new city.
Your glasses will soon be able to translate speech in real-time. When you’re talking to someone speaking Spanish, French, or Italian, you’ll hear what they say in English through the glasses’ open-ear speakers. Not only is this great for traveling, it should help break down language barriers and bring people closer together. We plan to add support for more languages in the future to make this feature even more useful.
And we’re expanding Meta AI on Ray-Ban Meta to more countries—so soon, more people around the world will be able to use these features, too. We’ll have more to share later this year.
We’re partnering with Be My Eyes, an app that’s free for people who are blind or have low vision, connecting them with a network of sighted volunteers who then talk through and describe what’s in front of the user. Thanks to the glasses and POV video calling, the volunteer can see the user’s point of view, describe their surroundings, and, if needed, even give some real-time, hands-free assistance with everyday tasks, like adjusting the thermostat or sorting and reading mail
In addition to our recent Calm integration, we’re advancing our integrations with Spotify and Amazon Music, plus adding new partnerships with Audible, and iHeart. You can use your voice to search, discover, and play content on the go. Ask to play by song, artist, album, or audiobook. You can also ask for music by genre, mood, or station and get more information about the content your glasses are playing (“Hey Meta, what album is this from?”).
We’re dropping a new, limited edition set of Shiny Transparent Wayfarer frames so you can show off the tech inside them. These transparent frames were initially built as part of the engineering process, but we were so captivated by the look that we decided to build and share a limited amount of them with the world. This special edition embraces the essence of innovation through transparency, leaning heavily into craftsmanship, design, and ingenuity. Each ships with a new custom black charging case. Get yours before they’re gone. And we’re bringing EssilorLuxottica’s new range of UltraTransitions® GEN S™ lenses to the Ray-Ban Meta collection, giving you more options to adapt fast in all light conditions when shopping for the perfect pair.
Finally, we introduced Meta Lab, our newest experiential retail space—and our first dedicated to Ray-Ban Meta. Located in Los Angeles, this inclusive environment will let people test out Meta AI’s unique capabilities first-hand. They can take photos and make videos hands-free and then share the results with friends and family on Instagram and Facebook. And they can play music from Spotify or make a POV video call.
Meta Lab’s design will focus on expression and customization, initially highlighting Southern California car and lowrider culture, including the work of photographer Estevan Oriol, model makers Armando Flores and Erick Padilla, filmmaker Danny Hidalgo, and muralist Jacqueline Valenzuela. Next up will be an emphasis on DIY style and multiple creators and artists who embody that community and aesthetic. And at the store’s customization station, people can make their own Ray-Ban Meta glasses case a work of art with engraving, stamping, and stickers related to the store’s current creative theme.
Attendees at Connect can get a glimpse of what Meta Lab has to offer with our onsite preview space.
